Program Description
The goal of the Residential Heating and Air Conditioning program is to learn the basics of HVACR so students can repair, maintain, and troubleshoot the equipment that makes life more comfortable today.
The Residential Heating and Air Conditioning program provides students with the opportunity to gain the skills needed to be successful in this fast growing industry. Students learn to install, repair, and maintain residential heating and air conditioning equipment, and basic refrigeration equipment. Students also learn how to communicate with customers and work with others. The Residential Heating and Air Conditioning program is part of the Architecture and Construction Career Cluster.

Program Description
HVAC technician program: This career major is an introduction to air conditioning and refrigeration, exploring career opportunities in the HVAC/R industry, personal safety and work practices, and personal protective equipment. Students will be instructed on the proper handling of pressurized fluids, handling hazardous substances, hand and power tools, and equipment used to test and service air conditioning.
HVAC installer program: This career is an introduction to air conditioning and refrigeration, exploring career opportunities in the HVAC/R industry, personal safety and work practices, and personal protective equipment. Students will be instructed on more advanced skills such as fitting, ducts, lining out pipes and blowers, connecting electrical wiring between controls, and basic refrigeration. Upon completion of this career major, students will be set to start up HVAC/R and install Residential HVAC equipment.

Program Description
Interested in a cool career? The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at Meridian specializes in the design and installation of home and business heating and cooling systems. We offer two areas of specialization: Residential HVAC Installer and Residential HVAC Technician. As an HVAC Installer you’ll learn how to work on heating, ventilation, cooling and refrigeration systems that help people stay cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s not. Take your training further as an HVAC Technician and learn how to install, repair and maintain machines that regulate temperature and ventilation.
Students who enroll in either of Meridian’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration career training programs will learn how to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment for residential settings. Even though most things at Meridian are blue, this program is green. Students are also introduced to energy-saving technologies that can save the environment and a client’s budget.

Program Description
Heat and air technicians who have training from an accredited technical school have excellent job prospects. Learn residential and light-commercial systems, installations, maintenance, and repair. Train to become an HVAC/R Technician, obtain EPA 608 certification, I.C.E. certification, an Oklahoma State Apprentice license, and OSHA 10 General Safety certification, and work anywhere in the United States.

Program Description
Graduates of this program keep our workplaces and living quarters heated and cooled efficiently. They maintain and install the equipment that keeps our food fresh or frozen in our supermarkets. Students learn the skills that prepare them to work as heating, air conditioning, and/or refrigeration technicians. This class may be substituted for up to one year of the three years required in the apprenticeship for the Mechanical Journeyman's License. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for refrigerant handling is also available.
