Program Description

The Heating, Ventlation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration program is an individual program that prepares students to work in a variety of jobs in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration. Students are prepared to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial refrigeration; air conditioning; heat pumps; humidifiers; and electrical and gas heating. Students also learn the fundamentals of electricity, electric motors, and controls. Graduates of the program will be able to install and braze refrigeration tubing, diagnose electrical problems; install duct systems; repair light commercial equipment; recover air conditioning and refrigeration refrigerants; locate and repair leaks.

Program Description

A combination of classroom and shop learning experiences are used in the air conditioning and refrigeration program, which includes mechanical theory application, operation, and maintenance of basic and advanced air conditioning/refrigeration systems.

In addition, students learn about the different heating, gas, oil, electric, and heat pump systems. Graduates find career opportunities as air conditioning/refrigeration technicians; sales, retail, and wholesale representatives; installers; maintenance and service. Full-time day and evening courses are available on the main campus.

Program Description

The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Certificate program prepares individuals for positions in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning industry. Instruction is provided in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of HVAC equipment. Instruction in electrical applications and industrial safety will also be provided.

William Moore College of Technology

Program Description

Air Conditioning/Refrigeration & Heating is available as a day, two-year, Diploma or Associate of Applied Technology Degree or a night, two-year Certificate program. Students complete courses in Electricity for HVAC, Basic Domestic Heating, Commercial Heating, Introduction to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Commercial Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning. Day students are also required to take six technical electives.

The Air Condition, Refrigeration, and heating program provide students with the principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating mechanisms, their operation, maintenance, service and repair. Moore Tech combines classroom study with hands-on experience with modern equipment in the heating, refrigeration & air conditioning labs.  After completing the program our students are well trained and employable as a service technician.
