This is a two-year course in which the student learns the theory and practical applications of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment servicing. The course covers safety, soldering, brazing, piping, electrical circuits, central air units, window units, ice makers, refrigerators, oil and gas furnaces and heat pumps. Students will prepare for the following credentials or certifications: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Examinations- Levels I, II, & III, Core and Universal; R410A Reclamation Safety Certification; HVAC Excellence Examinations- Electricity, Basic Refrigeration & Charging, and Air Conditioning; and the Workplace Readiness Skills for the Commonwealth Examination.

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Condition and Refrigeration (HVACR) program is a two-year course designed to teach students the basic skills and technical knowledge necessary to gain employment in the HVAC area. Looking for a program that provides entry-level and apprenticeship career options? If so, our National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) HVAC program may be for you. HVAC technicians are also in unique entrepreneurial positions and may choose to own their own Heating and Air Businesses as their expertise grows. There is an increasing need for individuals with installation, maintenance, and repair skills.
Graduates will have opportunities for gainful entry-level employment and apprenticeship positions following this workforce course. Students may earn up to four levels of a highly recognized industry credential, NCCER HVAC Levels 1, 2, 3 & 4, by completing both written work online and hands-on work in an open-lab format. It’s possible if a student has intermediate HVAC knowledge and some accomplished industry experience, all four levels may be completed within the first 16 weeks.

Program Description
This program is designed to give a student the ability to gain an entry-level position in an exciting and growing field. Once a student is selected into the program, they will experience a fast-paced and intensive time of study and hands-on learning in both residential and commercial aspects of the field. To qualify, participants must first complete a basic training program and fulfill all application requirements.
